About Rachel

For 25 years I have been lucky enough to integrate my passion for physical and mental health in the work I do.

I have a BSc in Mental Health, a Diploma in Integrative Counselling, and am a Remedial Massage Therapist and Yoga teacher.

As a Counsellor I work independently and also for Scottish charities supporting mental health and women experiencing Domestic Abuse.

I work for NHS Scotland delivering SMHFA, mental health and suicide prevention training to Scottish universities, charities and community groups.

Counselling commitments leave less time than previous years, but I still run a busy Complementary Health Clinic specialising in supporting people living with pain from Long-Term Conditions such as MS and Endometriosis.

One aspect that links all the jobs I do is the importance of the therapeutic relationship.

In my lived and professional experience, this is more likely to develop when the therapist is as authentically themselves as they can be…(no air-brushed pics here).

I have studied mental health for a long time and take my studies and my continuing professional development training, very seriously.

What’s also really important, is that my clients tell me that I am a warm, accepting, curious person, who hasn’t forgotten what it’s like to be where you may be right now, in need of some care and professional support.
